Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura disappearance day
Today, Sunday, July 11, 2010, is the disappearance day of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur an Acharya in our Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya.
In his final years, he performed intense nirjan bhajan (secluded worship) at Surabi Kunj in Navadwip, Bhakti Kuti in Puri, and also at Bhakti Bhavan in Calcutta where he disappeared in 1914 when he was 76 years old.
The Pranama Mantra of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur is:
namo Bhaktivinodaäya
sac-cid-änanda-nämine
gaura-çakti-svarüpäya
rüpänuga-varäya te
“I offer my respectful obeisances unto Saccidänanda Bhaktivinoda,
who is transcendental energy of Caitanya Mahäprabhu.
He is a strict follower of the Gosvämés, headed by Çréla Rüpa.”
On this auspicious day we pray to Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur to bless us to take the movement Lord Chaitanya seriously and also assist in spreading this movement more and more by which every one of us can become blissful and the whole world can be united.
